Allow us to introduce you to one of our mentees, Chrishawn. He joined The Lantern Network in Fall 2023 and has experienced tremendous growth with our support. Prior to joining our program, Chrishawn sought guidance and expressed a desire to enhance his leadership skills. Uncertain about his future upon graduating with his bachelor’s degree, Chrishawn's journey took a positive turn when he was paired with a mentor. Through this partnership, Chrishawn gained clarity and decided to pursue further education by attending law school. His interest in politics became a driving force, propelling him closer to impacting his community in the way he envisioned. Moreover, Chrishawn seized opportunities to refine his leadership and public speaking skills by assisting our Program Manager during workshops. Stepping up as a moderator, Chrishawn shared his personal experiences, transforming them into valuable learning opportunities for his peers.
